9 Apr Open Wrestling:  Eleven representatives from high school to eight years old participated in the Terminator Tournament at the Lucas County Rec Center.  31 matches were wrestled against top notch competition from Ohio, as well as, Indiana, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.  Jacob Martin, Jason Mossing placed 2nd, Nick Brown placed 4th, Brad Mossing placed 6th, Aaron Cook placed 6th.  See more info at: RockyMountainNational_Results

2/3 Apr Youth Wrestling:  SF Wrestling Club had three representatives at the Grade School State Championships at Bowling Green State University:  Nathan Cook, Jacob Martin, and Jason Mossing all came away with victories!  Jacob Martin who was on the young side of his division finished 5th in the State with a 4-2 record against a very strong field.  Nathan and Jason also had encouraging performances!  Congratulations to all!  See the results

19 Mar Open Wrestling:  (ages 5-18) Six representatives of the SFWC competed in the Wildcat Trophy Tournament.  The gang experienced the Grand Canyon and learned a little about the wildcats on the banks of the Maumee River.  Vincenzo Cardone was a champ, Kent Kern placed 2nd, Jason Mossing placed 3rd.  Valuable experience was gained by all!

11/12 Mar Junior High State Championships:  Vincenzo Cardone competed in seven hard fought matches over a two day period to become the 1st Junior High State Placer for the St. Francis Wrestling Club.  Congratulations Vincenzo!! Sun 6 Mar Open Wrestling:  The Knights were well represented at the 20th annual Panther Wrestling Tournament!

Sat 5 Mar Grade School Districts:  St. Francis Wrestling Club qualifies three individuals to the Grade School State Championships held at Bowling Green State University.  Congratulations to Jacob Martin, Nathan Cook, and Jason Mossing.

Jan - Feb Junior Varsity and Junior High Wrestling:  See some "hardware" the Junior High and Junior Varsity Teams have brought home over the last few weeks!

20 Feb Wrestling Field Trip:  Thirty-two St. Francis representatives took a wintry field trip to Ann Arbor to watch the University of Michigan & Purdue University battle in Big Ten dual meet competition.




13 Feb Junior High Wrestling:  Nine wrestlers participated in 35 matches and came away with lots of quality tournament experience.  The team had lots of fun.  Vincenzo Cardone placed third and qualifies to the Junior High State Tournament held at Kent State University on March 11th and 12th!  See Vincenzo's and other JH State Brackets.

6 Feb SFWC Practice Squad Wrestling:  St. Francis had eleven representatives participate in 29 individual matches at the Rogers Rams Biddy Wrestling Tournament for ages 14 and under.
        

5 Feb Junior High Wrestling:  St. Francis traveled to Troy, Ohio and competed with Dayton Carroll, Covington, Dayton Christian, Troy Christian, and St. Paris Graham's B team.  The Knights were 4-1 in dual meets and finished 2nd to a very touch Troy Christian Junior High squad.
        

30 Jan Junior High & Practice Squad Wrestling:  Seven members of SFWC wrestled in the Rossford Bulldog 'Biddy' Tournament.  Jake Martin and Brad Mossing were individual Champs.  Kent Kern and Daniel Cook placed 2nd.  Mike McCarthy placed 3rd and Josh Mossing placed 4th.  Congratulations!

29 Jan Junior High Wrestling:  St. Francis traveled to Napolean and participated in the 10 ten team Napoleon Junior High Invitational.  The nine Knight representatives placed 3rd overall as a team.  Eight were place winners.  Jerome Robinson, Joe Janke, and Vincenzo Cardone were individual Champions!  Jerome Robinson was the tournament's Outstanding Wrestler!

22 Jan Practice Squad Wrestling:  Seven members of the SFWC Practice Squad braved the weather and participated in the Perrysburg Biddy PIT Tournament.  Everyone gained some experience and came home with some hardware!

18 Jan Junior High Wrestling:  The Junior High Knights traveled to Elida for a tri-match with Elida and Allen East Middle Schools.  Twelve wrestlers competed in 23 matches and came away with 10 victories.  Valuable experience was gained through this solid competition!
       

16 Jan Junior High School Wrestling:  Eight wrestlers, three coaches, a videographer, a medic and a group of parents representing Toledo St. Francis traveled to Lakewood St. Edward's to participate in the 7th Annual Junior High Catholic Invitational Tournament.  Congratulations to Joe Janke and Brad Mossing for placing 5th and 6th respectively.

14-15 Jan Youth Wrestling:  Jacob Martin defeated five opponents from across the United States en route to his Runner-Up finish at the 50th Annual Cliff Keen Tulsa Nationals held in Tulsa Oklahoma.  Jacob who also won an Ohio OAC grade school State Championship in 2004 is a member of the St. Francis Wrestling Club.  Congratulations Jacob!  See the tournament results.

8 Jan Junior High School Wrestling:  14 representatives from the Junior High squad represented St. Francis and wrestled 40 matches at a quadrangular meet with Cincinnati Moeller Wrestling Club, Troy Christian Junior High, and host St. Paris Graham Junior High.  Against this top notch competition, the individual match victories were sparse but the amount of overall experience gained was well worth the trip!

28 Dec Junior High School Wrestling:  SFWC held a scrimmage at DeVeaux Junior High.  Experience was gained and fun was had.

18 Dec Junior High School Wrestling: The St. Francis Wrestling Club broke a new record!  They competed in 49 matches in one day!  Twelve members wrestled at the Elmwood Royal Duals Tournament and came away with 33 victories.  Solid competition was had by all thanks to Elmwood for hosting a great tourny at a fantastic facility.
     

16 Dec:  The SFWC sponsored the '1st Annual Wrestling Alumni Mixer' graduates from 1963 thru 2003 were in attendance.  An evening of fun was had by all!! We look forward to doing it again next year in the new wrestling facility!!

14 Dec Junior High Wrestling:  St. Francis traveled to Findlay to wrestle Central Middle School and Fassett Junior Highs.  Fourteen SFWC representatives participated in 28 matches and came away with 22 victories.  Valuable experience was gained by all!! See more photos

1 Dec Junior High Wrestling:  The Junior High Knights opened their regular season with a dual meet preview with the East Toledo Junior High wrestling team.  The Knights competed in 17 matches and had 10 victories.  Fun was had by all, and valuable competition experience was gained!

      

21 Aug Open Wrestling:  SFWC qualifies 10 wrestlers to the Border Wars Folkstyle Wrestling National Championships to be held November 13 & 14, 2004 at Holt High School in Holt, Michigan.

           

7 Aug Fund Raising: SFWC conducts a successful car wash 43 people, washed 102 cars, consumed: 90 hot dogs and 9 gallons of lemonade, while raising some money for the club.  Fun was had by all!

        

4 Aug Wrestling Clinic:  SFWC hosts coach Tony Vaughn as a guest clinician.  See Coach Vaughn's Credentials.



         

14-17 Jul Big Man Camp:  SFWC takes 3 big men, 3 coaches, and a little man to the Purdue Big Man summer camp.

        

27 Jun Summer Camp: SFWC takes 16 wrestlers, 4 coaches & 1 medic to camp


                 

23 Jun Strength and Conditioning:  SFWC completes the 1st phase of a strength and conditioning program.
