High School Wrestling Team
2004-2005 Season Summary

9 Apr Open Wrestling: Eleven representatives from high school to eight years old participated in the Terminator Tournament at the Lucas County Rec Center. 31 matches were wrestled against top notch competition from Ohio as well as Indiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania. Jacob Martin, Jason Mossing placed 2nd, Nick Brown placed 4th, Brad Mossing placed 6th, Aaron Cook placed 6th.  See more info at: RockyMountainNational_Results

19 Mar Open Wrestling: (ages 5-18) Six Representatives of the SFWC competed in the Wildcat Trophy Tournament. The gang experienced the Grand Canyon and learned a little about the wildcats on the banks of the Maumee River. Vincenzo Cardone was a champ, Kent Kern placed 2nd, Jason Mossing placed 3rd. Valuable experience was gained by all!

Sun 6 Mar Open Wrestling: The Knights were well represented at the 20th annual Panther Wrestling Tournament!

 

 18-19 Feb High School District Wrestling - Varsity: Josh Hinojosa, Nick Brown, Justin Edgell, Ben Mossing, and David Stanford represented Northwest Ohio and Toledo St. Francis at District Championships at Mentor High School. Results 

      

11-12 Feb High School Sectional Wrestling - Varsity: Toledo St. Francis DeSales qualifies five individuals to the District Championships!! Josh Hinojosa, Nick Brown, Justin Edgell, Ben Mossing, and David Stanford move one step closer to the State Tournament. Congratulations Knights!! Jan - Feb Junior Varsity and Junior High Wrestling: See some "hardware" the Junior High and Junior Varsity Teams have brought home over the last few weeks!  17 Jan High School Wrestling: The Junior Varsity Knights competed in the Clyde Invitational Tournament against fifteen plus northwest Ohio schools and came away with seven place winners. Tim Kronbach - won an individual Championship. Congratulations Tim! Eric Liedigk, Mike Szaroleta,  & John Krontz, placed 3rd. Aaron Cook placed 4th. Chase Miller and Nick Crow placed 5th. Congratulations to all! 

     
5 Feb High School Wrestling - Varsity: The Varsity squad placed 5th out of 12 teams in the Toledo City League Championships.  See more info and photos by clicking on the photo to the right.
 
    
4 Feb High School Wrestling - Junior Varsity: The Junior Varsity knights were team runnerups at the Toledo City League Championships. Tim Kronbach, Maks Babuder, John Krontz were individual Champions! See more info and photos by clicking on the team photo. 
      
29 Jan High School Wrestling - Junior Varsity: St. Francis Junior Varsity Knights placed 2nd at the Clay Invitational Tournament. Brandon Hanus & John Krontz were  individual Champions!! Mike Szaroleta placed 2nd. Kevin Trabbic, Tim Kronbach, and Taylor Fawley placed third. Congratulations Knights!
 
          
28 Jan High School Wrestling- Junior Varsity & Varsity:  Congratulations to the JV & varsity wrestling teams for defeating both Start & Clay.  The Knights varsity defeated Clay 46-19 & Start 49-19.  The season records for the Junior Varsity, Varsity are 8-0, 4-4 respectively. Congratulations Knights!
  
     
22 Jan High School Wrestling - Varsity: The Varsity Knights traveled to the Wapakoneta invitational tournament.  The knights had 8 individual place winners!  Josh Hinojosa captured a Championship!  Nate Pelker and Ben Mossing placed 3rd.  Nick Brown and David Stanford took 4th. Jake Hanus placed 5th. Justin Edgell and Nick Crow finished 6th.  Congratulations Knights!
    

21 Jan High School Wrestling - Varsity, Junior Varsity: SFS traveled to Tiffin for a tri-match with Whitmer and Tiffin Columbian. The Varsity Knights were defeated by Toledo Whitmer by a score of 46 to 10.  The knights were outpointed by the Tornados 38 to 23.  The Varsity dual meet season record is now 2-4.  The Junior Varsity grapplers remained undefeated in dualmeet competition and bring their season tally to 6-0.

      

15-16 Jan High School Wrestling:  Varsity Team competed at the Catholic Invitational Tournament in Newark, OH. Congratulations to Josh Hinojosa and Nate Pelker who both finished with individual 6th place honors. see the results
       

12 Jan High School Wrestling:  Varsity & Junior Varsity Dual Meet with St. John's Jesuit: The Junior Varsity remains undefeated in dual meets they outpointed the Titans 68-16. The SFS Varsity squad was edged 33-29 and dropped their season dual meet record to 2-2. see even more photos

6 Jan High School Wrestling - Junior Varsity & Varsity:  SFS & CCHS dual meet wrestling. The Junior Varsity Knights outpointed the Toledo Central Catholic JV wrestlers by a score of 40-6. The Varsity Knights, now 2-1 on the season, were defeated by the Irish by a score of 41-24. 28-29 Dec High School Wrestling - Varsity:  SFS varsity Team competed with 20 other teams from across the state of Ohio (and West Virginia). Josh Hinojosa placed 6th at 103 pounds

      

28 Dec High School Wrestling - Junior Varsity:  The JV squad had a very strong showing at hte Fostoria St. Wendelin Invitational tournament. see more photos here
     

18 Dec High School Wrestling - Varsity:  SFS varsity knights placed 4th as a team at the 2004 Oak Harbor Invitational Tournament see more photos and results 
    

16 Dec High School Wrestling:  Junior Varsity and Varsity competed in a tri-match with Toledo Rogers & Bowsher in the PIT and started their dual meet season off with a 2-0 record. SFS defeated Bowsher 55-10 and  SFS  outpointed Toledo Rogers 63-13.  more pictures   Congratulations Knights!
     

11 Dec High School Wrestling - Junior Varsity:  The Junior Varsity Knights opened up their season with a team Championship at the Toledo Whitmer Invitational. The Knights had two Champions and many placers. see more photos

10 Dec High School Wrestling - Varsity:  Congratulations to the varsity wrestling team for placing 7 wrestlers in the Rogers Holiday Tournament.  Ben Mossing placed 2nd, Justin Edgell was 3rd.  Placing 5th were Josh Hinojosa, Erik Michaels & Jason Goblirsch, & 6th place finishers were Nick Brown & Jake Hanus.

4 Dec High School Wrestling - Freshmen:  The Freshmen grapplers  competed in a 23 team field at the Maumee Andy Bates  Freshman Tournament. Thirteen Freshmen represented  SFS and three were finalists: Matt Ramirez & Maks  Babuder won their weight classes, Aaron Cook was  runner-up.
